Samoan Language Week

Samoan Language Week

The theme for this year is “Tautua ma le faamaoni nei, mo sou taeao manuia Serve with diligence today for a better tomorrow.

Tautua means “to serve”.  The concept of tautua in the Sāmoan culture is, in order to lead, one must first serve.  It is not necessarily about leading from the front but about the paradox of status through service.

Although Samoan Language Week only runs for a week, Samoan Bios is committed to keeping this page up all year round to celebrate it EVERYDAY!!

We hope to encourage people from all backgrounds who visit this site to participate in learning and speaking Samoan.

If you’re on twitter, you can use the hash-tags #SamoanLanguageWeek -OR- #SLW to participate in Samoan Language tweets! Don’t forget to follow us: @SamoanBios.
