VILLAGES IN SAMOA: Sefa’s father is from Fitiuta in Manua and his mother is from Aoa in Tutuila, American Samoa


KNOWN FOR: Associate Dean and Director of the Asian American Resource Center at Pomona College. Professionally, he has served as an Academic and student-organizational adviser, as well as an instructor for Asian American Studies programs at UCLA and CSU Fullerton. In 2010, Sefa was appointed by President Obama to the White House Commission on AAPI Affairs. He is also the Chair of the Advisory Board for EPIC and has been active on the advisory boards of the Pacific Islander Health Careers PIPELINE Project, NHPI Alliance for Health, Pacific Islander Cancer Control Network, Samoan Community Advisory Board, and The AIGA (All Islands Getting Along) Foundation. Sefa is also a Founding member of NPIEN (National Pacific Islander Educators Network).
