KNOWN FOR:
A former New Zealand Silver Fern Netball player and is also known for her time as a television Sports reporter and commentator for ONE News and Sport. She is cousin to Alama Ieremia (former Manu Samoa and All Blacks player) and Neil Ieremia (Black Grace).

SHORT BIO / CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
Ieremia played Provincial Netball for Canterbury from 1986-1996. At 20, Ieremia went on to represent the Silver Ferns at the 1987 Netball World Cup Championship where they won Gold. Ieremia also competed to take part in the 1991 and 1995 Netball World Cup Championships. The Silver Ferns won Silver in both years.

After Ieremia retired from Netball, she pursued a television career with ONE news in 1997, and won Qantas Media Award for Best Presenter. Ieremia hosted her own TV show ‘April’s Angels’ which was only a one year project.

In 2000, Ieremia took on another role in commentary for ONE Sports, covering the National Bank Cup, Netball World Cup and ASB Classic International Tennis Championship events held in Auckland. Ieremia retired from Sports commentary in 2003.
